About Us

The Loyalist District of A.R.E.S represents the four local A.R.E.S groups that provide Amateur Radio Emergency Services to the counties of Hastings, Prince Edward, Lennox & Addington and Frontenac plus the cities of Kingston, Belleville and Quinte West. The Loyalist district is located in Eastern Ontario at the eastern end of Lake Ontario.

Our groups provide trained radio operators with equipment to various government and non-governmental organization in the event of communication failure of the local telephone or radio systems.

This sites main intent is to provide information regarding training and operational information to our local ARES members and outside ARES members providing mutual support.

If you are interested in becoming an ARES member please contact you local ARES Emergency Coordinators listed in the Contact Us section. The only prerequisite to becoming a member is having an Amateur Radio Certificate issued by Industry Canada. Further training will then be provided in message handling so that you can work effectively with other ARES radio operators.
